Edgar “Shoboy” Sotelo

Edgar “Shoboy” Sotelo is an engaging, funny, positive, and bicultural-bilingual Marconi Award winning radio host, content creator, motivational speaker and Entrepreneur.
Edgar currently hosts his independently owned National Radio Program: “@ShoboyShow”. He also Co-Hosts a Feel Good & Inspiring Podcast, “Hanging With Los Sotelos” with his wife Janet. He began his career in 2007 in the Latin Urban/Top40 format on La Kalle, San Francisco, CA, and later moved to host his first morning show which had great success on Dallas TX’s Latin Urban/Top 40 Mega 107.5. He also hosted mornings in the Regional Mexican format on La Grande 107.5 in Dallas, TX before crossing over to English Top 40 in 2015 on New York’s 92.3 Amp Radio.
Over the years, Edgar has enjoyed unique success in hosting morning shows in both English, Spanish and Spanglish. Most recently he hosted morning shows in the “English Top 40” format on Amp Radio in New York and Amp Radio in Los Angeles.
Edgar’s success stems in great part from his creativity, relatability and passion for his community. He uses his platform to not only entertain but to help enrich and empower his community through fundraisers and motivational speaking that has impacted over 500,000 students across America. In recognition of his community outreach, Sotelo was honored at the White House by Former President Barack Obama and he has also received the U.S. Senate’s Most Influential Leader Award. He is also a recipient of the National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Radio Award for Spanish Format Personality of the Year.
Sotelo hosted the Marconi Awards in 2012 and 2014, moderated the first Latino Youth Summit hosted by The United States Senate, and spoke at the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute’s Annual Conference.
Edgar is a proud Mexican American born in Ocotlan Jalisco Mexico and raised in Southern California. He has a B.A. in Psychology from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and a M.A. in Organizational Leadership from Azusa Pacific University. He believes in Education and Empowering the next generation to reach their full potential.
